I had loved the look and feel – as well as the food – of Shelley’s Gourmet Café for months before I realised we were neighbours and she actually lived above me! After that I asked if I could intrude for a morning and take some shots. I love the design of the restaurant and the desserts are to die for – but if I can recommend anything then you must try her green Thai curry!

Baraka is a very quaint shop in the old Cape Quarter in Green Point, Cape Town. It’s a real eclectic mix of new and old where you can find things from a thirties cigarette case to a modern piece of art.

The first time I visited the Cape to Cuba restaurant in Kalk Bay I knew I had to photograph it – it’s full of such a mix of styles and colours but it all works brilliantly together.
