Some of you might know that I recently moved to Jhb (in November last year). Well….this post is just to let everyone know that I have returned to Cape Town. The truth is the Jhb was just not for me. There are many wonderful things about living in the big smoke, but I just missed Cape Town sooo much that I had to return.
Some may say that this is a bit flakey and that I should have stuck it out for longer. When I was younger I went to the UK, as many South Africans do, and I stayed there for 5 years. I then moved to CT from London and this was at times quite trying (I am originally from Jhb). I “stuck out” both situations and I am now at an age where I realise that when you know, YOU KNOW!
This last year has been challenging (and exciting)! I have learnt so much about myself as a person and about what I value as important in life. Cape Town has stolen my heart and it will take a lot for me to leave this precious place again!
feel free to have a look at some of the Instagram images that I have taken over the last year
Cape Town wants you back!
Love that: “when you know, YOU KNOW” One of these days I will be following your example…
I would move back in a second if I could… That place just does something to your heart! Enjoy it!
Good for you! Cape Town is just too amazing!
Well, can’t say that I didn’t expect that! LOL! Hope to join you in the next few years! Cape Town is under my skin too! Enjoy your homecoming! xxx
Wesley, I had just ‘discovered’ you when you said you were going to jhb and was sad to never have the chance to work with you – so imagine my delight to hear you are moving back to CT! Your work is beautiful, evocative, and full of emotion! I really hope we get to work together sometime soon…
I am a sad JHB-er but I am happy for you When you find the things that make you happy you must never let go of them…
Woop woop xxx
